You can easily show the people in your life what you're up to with email, Facebook or Twitter; they might even chip in too at times like birthdays and Christmas or maybe a club fundraiser. Interact with short messages of thanks, or banter, with the people who are helping you towards you goal.
Keep focused on the things you want it's a non-transactional account that you can't dip into on a Friday night. It's saving to spend not for that rainy day that may never come.
Can I close my goal at any time?
Your money is always on call so you can close your goal at any time. The only trick with Uncle Percy is you have to close your goal completely, you cant just take out a little.
Do friends and family have to be registered to contribute towards my goal?
No... Anyone can contribute towards you goal and they do not have to register
What if I change my mind and just want my money before I reach my goal?
No problem, just close your goal and funds will be transferred back to your nominated bank account. No penalties.
Who holds my money and how do I know it’s safe?
All our users funds are held in an on-call trust account which is independently managed by Public Trust - NZ's largest trustee organisation and a Crown Entity with guaranteed independence.
How much does it cost to use Uncle Percy?
Just $7.95 per goal.
I haven’t been sent an email verification what do I do?
We have noticed that some email are getting caught in Spam filters, so check your junk mail or just send us an email at team@unclepercy.co.nz and we’ll get you sorted.
I’m not sure what privacy setting I should use?
When you use Uncle Percy you have three privacy settings to choose from. We have outlined what each one does and how you use them on the right hand side of this page. Just over there >>>
Do I earn interest on money held in my Uncle Percy account?
Sadly no. All funds are held in a on call trust account at Westpac bank and administered by Public Trust. Uncle Percy is designed to provide you with a safe place to keep your money and provide you other benefits like sharing your goals and loading images of your goal.
Can I have multiple goals under my Uncle Percly profile?
Yes, you can can have a maximum of six goals active at any one time under your Uncle Percy profile. If you think you might need a few more, just let us know.
PublicGenerally used for fundraising initiatives. These are goals that people you don't know might be interested in checking out. Fundraising, community based initiatives etc.
Friends onlyGoals that you want to be able to share with your friends and family. Remember in order for them to see your goal you have to send them an email or post a link to facebook. This gives you all the control of who can see your goal.
PrivateNo one but you can see this goal, great if you're saving for an engagement ring, surprise holiday or something personal. Private goals are a great way to just stash away some money each month.
